I take 2004 1200 custom I bought new in Feb, 2004. I love it but needed more power so I had the dealer do the stage 2 kit which included air cleaner, 44 mm carb, cams, exhaust and 7000 rpm ign module. This was done concluding twelvemonth with 10,000 miles on the bike. This year I noticed an increase in vibration. It got and so bad that the mirrors would blur at idle. The bike now has 17,000 miles on it and runs real practiced. I took information technology to the dealer to have them bank check the vibration. They were decorated and had it for 2 weeks. After two of the mechanics and the service manager rode the bicycle, all said at that place was a slight vibration only it seemed normal. The service manager added that he had never ridden new prophylactic mounted sportster with that many miles on it and that may be what happens over time. They didn't charge me annihilation and I got a free bike wash. When I got home I looked over the bike in the garage and noticed the big thru commodities in the fromt safety motor mount. There was no thread showing where the nut was on the commodities. I removed the right foot peg and rear brake pedal to gain admission to the nut. With a 1 inch socket on information technology I was able to tighten it up about two full turns. Guess what, no more than vibration. Anyone with a similar proble may want to check this earlier taking it to a shop. Last edited past iBloke; 6th May 2006 at 05:16..
