Default vibration trouble solved - CHECK YOUR Forepart ENGINE Mount BOLT!!

I take 2004 1200 custom I bought new in Feb, 2004. I love it but needed more power so I had the dealer do the stage 2 kit which included air cleaner, 44 mm carb, cams, exhaust and 7000 rpm ign module. This was done concluding twelvemonth with 10,000 miles on the bike. This year I noticed an increase in vibration. It got and so bad that the mirrors would blur at idle. The bike now has 17,000 miles on it and runs real practiced. I took information technology to the dealer to have them bank check the vibration. They were decorated and had it for 2 weeks. After two of the mechanics and the service manager rode the bicycle, all said at that place was a slight vibration only it seemed normal. The service manager added that he had never ridden new prophylactic mounted sportster with that many miles on it and that may be what happens over time.

They didn't charge me annihilation and I got a free bike wash. When I got home I looked over the bike in the garage and noticed the big thru commodities in the fromt safety motor mount. There was no thread showing where the nut was on the commodities. I removed the right foot peg and rear brake pedal to gain admission to the nut. With a 1 inch socket on information technology I was able to tighten it up about two full turns. Guess what, no more than vibration. Anyone with a similar proble may want to check this earlier taking it to a shop.

Information technology took two weeks for your stealer to NOT find information technology? Time for a new stealer?

Thanks for the tip. I don't have a vibration problem either, but it will save me tons of time if I ever do.

My wifes 04 1200 custom has the aforementioned problem it vibrates similar heck. I read this thread and went right out and checked the through bolt and certain plenty information technology is loose. Y'all can turn it with your fingers. So I will get correct on that this weekend and hopefully that will cure information technology. Thanks Ron for the tip.

Don't forget to apply Lock-Tite on every nut and commodities that came loose, if it did it earlier it'll practise it again, but side by side time information technology'll happen in the centre of nowhere!!!
